Brooklyn Engagement Session
Grace + Michael
Grace + Michael
It likely comes as a surprise to no one that we do a lot of engagement sessions in Manhattan. So when Grace and Michael asked to have their session in Brooklyn, we heartily said yes! For this Brooklyn engagement session, we knew that Grace and Michael were super classy, so we strategically chose locations to complement their elegance.
We decided that the perfect route for this session would start in Vinegar Hill and end at sunset on the Brooklyn Bridge. We knew all the spots in between would suit wholly suit them: DUMBO, John Street Park, and the Manhattan Bridge.
We didn’t just choose this location because it’s nice for photos, we also love strolling through these neighborhoods. We met at one of the best coffee shops in the area, Brooklyn Roasting Company on Jay Street. If you haven’t caught on yet, we really like coffee and wine and/or whisky, so anytime we can start or end a session over coffee or wine or whisky, our feel more fulfilled.
A great thing about Vinegar Hill is that it has maintained its historic charm over the years, with very little modern architecture to pull you out of the immersion. The cobblestone, tree lined streets are filled with brick homes, typically no taller than a few stories. You won’t find a lot of car traffic. And less than half a mile away is the Navy Yard that houses one of the best whiskey distilleries we’ve visited, King’s County Distillery. I told you we love our whiskey.
Grace and Michael were the complete product, perfectly at ease in front of the camera. They oozed passion as they tenderly held each other. The photo shoot ended on the Brooklyn Bridge, just as the sun eclipsed the Manhattan skyline. In short, it was a fairytale day.
