Family Portraits in Nature

We have photographed every stage of life for the Hamza family. From their engagement session in Amsterdam, to their wedding in Luxembourg, to their anniversary session in Switzerland. But now they have two precious littles, and I was so happy to do these simple family portraits in nature to commemorate another stage of their love.

Family sessions don’t have to be elaborate affairs to be beautiful. Some of my favorite sessions are of little families playing a game in a park or strolling through a city. The more comfortable your kids feel during the session, the more true to their personalities the photos will be. And to me, that’s the entire goal of portraits–to capture a snapshot in time of the personalities of those in front of the camera.

I’m currently making a huge shift in the ins and outs of Cottonwood Studios. Our focus has always been on weddings and engagement sessions, but moving forward, I’ll be focusing less on weddings, and mostly working on portraits and headshots!
