Wedding at the Chateau of Champagne

When Valerie and Sean first contacted me about photographing their destination wedding, I was so excited about the prospect of getting to photograph a wedding at the Chateau of Champagne. I had seen lots of my friends–planners, florists, and photographers–get to be a part of weddings there, and it was finally my turn to be a part of one of the amazing celebrations.

Nestled in the heart of Epernay in the Champagne region of France, a region renowned for its sparkling wines and breathtaking landscapes, the Château Comtesse Lafond stands as an enchanting backdrop for the most romantic celebrations. The estate redefines elegance and charm, leaving all attendees in awe of the timeless beauty that a chateau wedding can bring to life.

The sun-dappled lawn covered by massive trees played host to an intimate ceremony, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest friends and family who had flown in from all over the globe.

The vin d’honneur in the champagne cellar and the reception that followed in the Cave Comtesse was a celebration of love, joy, and the dancing. LOTS of dancing. Guests were treated to a sumptuous feast of culinary delights, paired with the finest Champagne the region has to offer. After a magnificent dinner, everyone was surprised with, instead of a cheese course, a cheesemonger’s truck. We had our pick of any of his glorious cheeses, and I really thought I’d died and gone to heaven.

This was one of those dream couples, dream venues, and dream weddings that only comes around every once in a while. And it was the greatest pleasure to be the one to photograph it!
